CREATING EMPOWERING HABITS


Changing habits or creating new habits isnt easy. When attempting change, it is important to become aware of
how often we do or dont do something. What we keep track of will help us create our new behaviors and habits.
In other word: What we track, we can back!
Start this by reviewing your current Disempowering Habits. Whats getting in your way? Whats not working?
Disempowering Habits are those actions you take on a regular basis which detract and do not support you in a
happy and healthy life. They are actions you want to take less frequently or stop altogether.
Next, identify your current Empowering Habits. Ask yourself whats working well. Many small constructive
actions you already take on a routine basis may be going unnoticed and unacknowledged. Acknowledging these
positive actions can quickly give you a sense of accomplishment and provide forward momentum.
And finally, think of new Empowering Habits youd like to embrace. Ask yourself, will this action help me achieve
my lifes dreams and big goals, improve my life in some way, or move me toward a deeper and more purposeful
life?
Many small constructive actions we already do on a routine basis can go unnoticed and unacknowledged.
Acknowledging these can quickly give you a sense of accomplishment and forward momentum.
Using the lines below, list 10 habits you would like to let go of, continue, or begin. These empowering habits can
be related to your professional or personal life. Some examples are: laugh at least 3 times a day, meditate 20
minutes a day, exercise 3 times per week, etc. (CAUTION! Avoid musts, shoulds, have-tos and other peoples
expectations)
Empowering Habits: I want to start or continue Put a plus sign next to the habit. (+)
Disempowering Habits: I want to stop or decrease Put a minus sign next to the habit. ()

intellectual and spiritual environment to lead a joy-filled life.
Directions: List up to 10 Empowering Habits in the spaces provided. Each day you complete one of the Empowering
Habits, acknowledge yourself by coloring in the box intersecting that day and the habit. This chart will assist you in visually
tracking your progress while providing you valuable feedback.
