25 soccer balls and 1 giant yoga ball. 25 cones or polys but prefer cones. 5 more poly
spot.
When I distribute the balls, I will have each student come grab a ball, hold it to their
chest like a hug, and line up on the end line facing me. I will then count off by 1s and
2s to pair them up. 1s will stay on the end line and the 2s will go on the volleyball line. I
will then ask them to stand in the freeze position we went over last time, which is ball
between their feet and their hands on top of their head.

Safety Considerations:
Students will be inside the blue line around the court
at all times.
By the students keeping control of their ball, the
space for each student will be maximized to
complete the tasks.
I will keep all equipment not used against the
bleachers to prevent injuries and concentration.

Behavioral Contingencies:
I will make sure that all students keep the ball on the
ground at all times to prevent misbehavior.
I will use positive feedback to the ones that are doing
it correctly to reinforce the students who arent doing
it correctly.
I will use clips for reinforces also.

I will have the students do their 2 laps and come sit on their spot crisscross
applesauce to let me know when everyone is finished with their laps and ready.
Hello, I am Mr. Horton and we are going to keep working on dribbling and passing
a soccer ball. Lets go over our stretches so we can get to the activities. So I will do
the warm-up routine given by Mr. Woods.

High 5 Tag

Who remembers High-5 Tag? I will do a quick demo. I will call on 2 different
people from last time.
The student who has the ball is it, and we are running around trying to not get
caught within the boundaries. If you get tagged, you stand on one foot and then
hold up your arm high in the air waiting for someone who isnt tagged to give you a
high 5 and then you are back in the game.
I will use music as the start/stop cue again because they really liked this.
I will call on 5 students to come up and grab a ball out of the basket and stand their
hugging the ball in the half circle of half court. I will tell everyone to stand-up and
wait until the music starts.
When the music starts, the students will start running inside of the blue lines and
the half court line and try to avoid the it person. When the music stops, I will have
everyone to go back to their spot (sitting crisscross applesauce) and have the
students with the ball to come place the balls into the basket and have 1 student
take the basket to the side beside the cd player out of the way.

I will then call on row by row to come up and grab a ball (when you get the ball,
hold it to your chest like you are hugging it tightly) and come stand along this end
line (beside the table with the cd player on it.) I will then call them out by using the
1s and 2s method and I will have the 1s remain on the end line and the 2s will go
stand on the volleyball line (which is proximally 5 feet from the end line) across
from someone. Once I call everyone out, I will then say stand in the freeze
position. (ball between your feet and hands on your head)
Everyone, I want you to place your foot on top of the ball and hold it. Now, this is
called a trap. Now, when I say GO, lets trap the ball 5 times with one of your feet
of your choosing. Now, lets try it with your other foot.
Now, when I say go, lets practice passing it back and forth from one of the insides
of your feet to the other and try to keep the ball between your feet with control.
FREEZE. Everyone should have the ball between their feet and your hands on
your head. Now, can everyone on the volleyball line pick up your ball and roll it
softly towards the bleachers.

We are now going to work on trapping by rolling the ball to your partner. I will be
demonstrating while I am explaining how to do this. When I say GO, I want you to
roll the ball very easily to your partner and when the ball is coming to you, I want
you to stop the ball with your foot on top of the ball. When you catch it, put the ball
above your head and count to 5 and then roll it back to your partner easily and the
partner will stop the ball with their foot. Lets do this 10 times and take your time.
Ok, everyone who has a ball, pick it up and hold it above your head. Ready? GO.
Extension 1: Lets try to trap the ball with your other foot this time.
Extension 2: Increase the distance.
I will then say FREEZE and then have them roll the balls to their partner on this
side (volleyball side) so they can start the next activity. When you get the ball,
stand in the FREEZE position.
Lesson Core
-Pass and Trap

8 mins.

1, 2, 3, 4

We are now going to try pass the ball with the insides of our feet to our partners.
Who knows how to pass the ball correctly? The way you pass the ball is: you turn
your foot sideways, swing your leg back, and while swinging forward, hit the ball
with the inside of your foot, and follow through. Now, I want you to say to yourself
FOOT SIDEWAYS, SWING, HIT, and FOLLOW. Everyone want to try it?
When I say GO, I want you to pass the ball to your partner by using the insides of
your foot and your partner is going to TRAP the ball by stopping the ball with their
foot on top of the ball. Once you TRAP it, pass it back to your partner and your
partner will TRAP it the same way. Lets try to do this 10 times and remember to
TRAP each time. Ready? GO.
Extension 1: Increase the distance.
Extension 2: Lets see how many times you can pass to your partner and trap
correctly before the music starts. Whoever wins, I will let them line up first.
FREEZE. If you have a ball, can you please roll the ball softly to the side with the
bleachers and I would like everyone to go back to your spot and sit crisscross
applesauce.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5

We are now going to have a race and it will test everything you have learned with
me so far. I will make the teams equally by having 5 in each line and that is their
team. What you are going to do is you are going to start on the end line
underneath the basket and when I say GO, you are going to dribble the ball
around the cones, go to the poly spot at half court and TRAP the ball, then dribble
back through the cones, and TRAP at the next poly at the end of the cones and
PASS to your partner correctly. When you are the next one up to go, be ready to
TRAP the ball once your teammate passes the ball to you and then its your turn to
do the same thing. Once you have finished your lap, sit down in your line and the
first team to have everyone sitting down wins. We will do this 2 times, and the 1st
time is for practice but the 2nd time will be the race and if your team wins, I will see
if I can have their clip moved up. Is everyone ready? On your mark, get set, GO!!!!
I will correct the mistakes the first time and then it will be the 2nd run. IS everyone
ready? This is for all the marbles. READY? GO!!!!!
Now, Can everyone come sit at your spot?

Ok, Did everyone have fun? Why is it important to trap the ball? It is important to
trap the ball because it stops the ball and you gain control of the ball. Why should
we pass the ball with the insides of our foot? It helps you hit the ball straighter to
your partner. Is it ok to hit the ball on the side? No, the closer you hit the ball in the
middle, the better the ball will roll. I am going to challenge you all to remember how
to pass a soccer ball and you can even practice at home with any kind of ball. Now,
row by row you will line-up at the front of the doors. (The winners of the pass and
trap game will be the leaders) I will ask 3-5 students to clean up the equipment and
place it in the designated area beside the table.
