The Mouse Deer and

The Crocodiles

Once upon a time, there lived a

clever mouse deer in the jungle.

One day, the Mouse Deer saw

fruits on the other side of the
river. He was very hungry.

The mouse deer wanted to cross

the river. He wanted to eat the
delicious fruits but there were
many crocodiles in the river.

The mouse deer did not want the

crocodiles to eat him first. Then,
mouse deer had an idea. He called out
one of the crocodiles and talked to
him.

"You must line up from this side to

the river to the other side," said
the mouse deer. Then, the crocodile
agreed.

So, all the crocodiles line up in a row for

the mouse deer to count them. The
mouse deer jumped from one crocodile to
another and counted the number loudly,
"One,two,three" until the last one.

Finally, the mouse deer reached the

other side of the river safely. The
crocodile felt very angry because
they cannot eat the mouse deer.
