Gale of the Constellations
Once upon a time in a deep and strange land, eight-thousand light years away, there
existed a little kingdom called Pyxis, meaning compass. It’s been said that the kingdom was
called Pyxis because the wise king Hercules led his kingdom with direction and precision, just
like the steady arrows of a compass. Now the king had a son by the name of Orion. Orion was
the best archer in all the land, perhaps the whole universe. The king’s favorite and first hand
‘man was known as Delphinus. As much as people chose not to admit it, no one could beat or
even match his intelligence in a riddle or a problem of business, Besides his intelligence, he was
tall, fit and incredibly loyal to the king and even more so, his daughter. Columba (Ka-loom-ba)
‘was a beautifull young gir! with long brown hair and eyes deeper than the Safire Ocean. Her skin
was as white and soft as the feathers of a dove
Tragically, Columba’s mother died in childbirth, leaving her husband, Delphinus to care
for the child. Delphinus loved the child and taught her many traits and skills. As she grew into
womanhood, Delphinus realized there are many things he could not teach her and that she
needed a mother. Delphinus set off to the task of finding a mother for his daughter. A few
‘weeks later Delphinus returned with many gifts for his daughter, including a mother, Corvus,
Columba was not too fond of her stepmother; the feeling was mutual. However, Columba’s
favorite gift amongst the many gifts was a white Pegasus she called Star Dust.
As Columba continued to grow, her beauty could not be surpassed by any in the land.
