Junior First Aiders Club

Grades 5 and 6

RATIONALE:

The Junior First Aiders Club (JFAC) aims to train students to provide
basic health service to the school community and other communities
through first aid. It is committed to preserve life and to protect the
physical well-being of the people in the said communities.

II.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

To provide basic first aid training to grades 5 and 6 students

To encourage the practice of basic first aid
To develop a social and supportive school community amongst
members
To provide an information network between members to disseminate
developments in basic first aid
Promote teamwork and cooperation among members
Increase safety in the school community
Prevent any situation from becoming worse

III.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

Recognize different bandaging techniques

Acquire first aid techniques for the following emergencies/injuries
using the First Aid app (by American Red Cross):
o Allergies
o Asthma attack
o Bleeding
o Broken bone
o Burns
o Choking
o Etc.
Answer different assessment using the first aid app
Appreciate the importance of first aid through a movie presentation
Render service to the school community
