Impact Calculus

Dont be Alarmed. It has

nothing to do with mathematics!!!

What is impact calculus?

Essentially, impact calculus is when you weigh your impacts

against those of your opponents. You try to SELL YOUR IMPACTS.
The better you do this, the higher chance you have of winning.

Impact calculus consist of 3 main things:

Magnitude

Timeframe

Probability

What is magnitude?

a.) magnitude:

How big are your impacts?

Why should we care about your impacts?

Try to convince the judge that

A) Our impacts are

HUGE

B) The oppositions impacts are

small

What is timeframe?

Timeframe is where you determine whose impacts happen faster.

Ex:

their impacts dont happen any time soon.

Our are immediate.

What is probability?

Probability is where you weigh how likely your impacts are going
to occur, compared to the opposition, as a result of doing the AFF
plan?

Sell that your impacts are VERY LIKELY TO OCCUR.

Sell that their impacts have a very low probability of occurring.

Potentially add a turns their scenario argument.
