    Group Investigation

    A solar System is born!

    Materials:

    Bowl filled with Water


    1 tablespoon of oats
    A pinch of tea
    Stirrer
    Paper and pencil to record observations

    Directions:
    1. Keep the bowl on the tray and place on flat surface (desk).
    2. Gently scatter the oats in the water.
    3. Call the teacher over to add the tea. While you wait, make
    predictions about how the oats will behave once the water is
    stirred.
    4. After the tea is added, gently stir the water clockwise with
    the stirrer five times.
    5. Record how the materials behave in the table on the reverse
    side of this paper.
