Checking points of BTS

1. Indoor
1.1 Cable ladder

Indoor cable tray should be horizontal

Earth cable should be connected to each tray & finally connected to ECB
Bolts in ECB should be tightened

1.2 Cabinets

If there are two cabinets, height between them should not be more than 2 mm.
Slant of the cabinet should not be more than 3 mm

1.3 Power supply

The dc power can be between -57V to -40V

All connectors ( jumper, arrestor, etc.) should be tightened
In rectifier, check the phase cables(R,Y, G) & neutral (blue)cable is properly
connected
Check the breaker connected to the followings
BTS rack 63 A
Micro wave 16 A
Bolts in rectifier & battery banks should be tightened

1.4 Cabling

All cables should be either on ladder or casing

All cables should be labeled both ends
Separation between ac & DC cables should be > 5cm
Separation between ac & E1 cables should be as maximum
Excess cables can be laid on the ladder ( cable tray)
Jumper cables should not be rounded ( rolled)

2. Outdoor
2.1 Feeder system

Antenna direction & Down tilt

Down tilt error < 1
Direction error < 5

RF cables should have 3 earthing points

3 ECB positions

BTS
Room
-

If tower height less than 10m, 2 earthing points

If vertical RF cable > 60 m, one more point (3+1)
If horizontal RF cable >20 m, one more point (3+1)
Claming distance (0.8 1.2 m)
Curvature of RF is 40 cm radius
Curvature of jumper cable is 12.5 cm radius
Connecting point of RF & jumper should be straight at least 10cm

White color cable tie should be used in INDOOR and black color for OUTDOOR

2.2 Earthing system

Earth cable of BTS should be 35 mm2

DC cable of BTS 25 mm2
DC Earth resistance less than 5 ohm
VSWR < 1.5
AC power measurement can be obtained from the output of surge arrestor
3 phase from the rectifier VL-L = 380 V
