INTRODUCING GREECE:

Meteora
means
suspended
in the air,
and this
phrase aptly
describes
the
spectacular
cliffs that
rise more than 1,200 feet (366 meters) into the
air overlooking the villages of Kalambaka and
Kastraki in the north central mainland of Greece.

Greece officially the Hellenic Republic and known


since ancient times as Hellas, is a country
in Southern Europe andBalkans. According to the
2011 census, Greece's population is around 11
million. Athens is the nation's capital and largest city.
Greece is strategically located at the crossroads
of Europe, Asia and Africa. It shares land borders
with Albania to the northwest, theRepublic of
Macedonia and Bulgaria to the north and Turkey to the
northeast.
