Living Standards Changes
Student teaching
Problem: How many students actually
student teach during the first and sec‐
ond years? Additionally, the policy cur‐
rently reads that an exemption can be
made for a student who teaches WITHIN
a 50‐mile radius of BGSU.
Suggestions:
1. Eliminate all together
2. Change to include all academic in‐
ternships, including student teach‐
ing, outside of a given mile radius
3. Suggestion two, but keeping the cur‐
rent 50‐mile radius
4. Keep as is.
Dirt & Sand
Problem: Policy currently reads no dirt
or sand. Are there exceptions to live
vegetation (e.g. plants)?
Suggestions:
1. Prescribe a given amount of dirt al‐
lowed
2. Determine a specific size of plant
P. 43 that can be allowed
3. Keep policy as it stands
Christmas Trees
Problem: Policy reads Christmas trees
and should include all artificial trees,
whether viewed as for Christmas or not.
Suggestions:
1. Change language to read Artificial
Trees
Electrical Equipment Not Permitted
Problem: Policy currently does not in‐
clude multi‐plug adaptors
Suggestions:
1. Add as letter “g”: Multi‐plug adaptors
2. Investigate more specific informa‐
tion and terminology than “multi‐
plug”
3. Make no changes.
