Data tabulated above is the recent vibration measurement for P5330B. No previous measurement was
performed as the unit is not included in the list of equipment for vibration monitoring. As request by
operation representative, a vibration measurement was made on both unit P5330A and P5330B to
confirm there are defective bearing on the P5330B as there is an abnormal sound coming from the
pump side. Although the overall reading is not high at all location, the pump Peakvue, P1P spectrum
level is high with 3.55 G-s.

Multiple-spectrum above show there are significant amount of high frequency energy appeared at all
pump direction.

A single spectrum P1H with its waveform shown above with the turning speed (1xTS) has been marked,
also there are two non-synchronous peak arise, 5.31XTS and 7.31XTS possibly the bearing fault
frequency. Significant energy is evident in the waveform above with more than 10 G swing.

The spectrum above also show the bearing fundamental frequency (14.8xTS) has been marked with red
vertical lines, with its sidebands arises (Different frequency, Dfrg = 3001.4 CPM = 1xTS). Based on the
turning speed sidebands, an inner race defect is suspected.

Figure above shows the spectrum and its waveform from vertical direction. 2xTS is dominant on the
spectra, possibly there is a cracked inner race. The waveform also show high G swing with more than 16
G-s.
Data Analysis

Elevated non-synchronous and high frequency peaks

High peakvue level.
Repetitive waveform with high G swing

Diagnosis
Inner race bearing defect

Corrective action
The site representative has observed the abnormal sound coming from the pump side. CBM
team has been requested to confirm the possible fault, a bearing fault suspected and they
decided to change the bearing on the same day. CBM team will verify the vibration level after
the bearing has been changed on next routine. These two pumps P5330A & P5330B will be
included in quarterly vibration routine survey.
