RULES
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) including Appendix D. The
regatta will be umpired.
The Organizing Authority is the St. Francis Yacht Club.
Racing rule 40 will be changed as follows: Competitors shall wear personal flotation devices while racing, except
briefly while changing or adjusting clothing or personal equipment.
Rules for boats, equipment and handling of boats will be distributed as part of the Sailing Instructions. Spinnakers
will be used when conditions permit as determined by the Race Committee.
Each team shall bring a 24 x 36 burgee of their yacht club for the OA to display during the event.

BOATS
Boats (J22-type) will be provided by the OA.

TEAM & ELIGIBILITY


Only Yacht Club teams invited by the OA will be eligible to enter this event. All team members must be members,
spouses, or dependents of members in good standing of the yacht club they represent.
Teams consist of 3 boats.
Boats can be sailed by crews of three or four including the helmsman. There is no minimum or maximum weight.
The average age of the crew of each yacht (including the helmsman) shall be 40 or older on the first day and all
subsequent days of the regatta.
Each boat shall have a gender mix.
ISAF Sailor Classification Code, Regulation 22 will apply. All competitors shall be Group 1. Information on how to
apply can be found at www.sailing.org/classification. Any unclassified sailor shall be deemed to be Group 3 and
ineligible to sail.

ENTRY & FEES


The attached entry form and entry fee must be received by the St. Francis Yacht Club Race Office by August 30,
2015 to confirm entry in the event.
Entry fee is $2500 (US Dollars). Entry Fee includes breakfast and lunch on race days and tickets to each social event.
Additional tickets for social events can be purchased at Registration.
An initial damage deposit of $1,500 shall be paid or authorized as a charge against each helmsmans credit card at
Registration, unless exempted by the OA. This deposit is the maximum payable by the skipper as a result of any one
incident.
If a deduction from the damage deposit is decided by the OA, the OA may require that the deposit be restored to its
original amount before the skipper is permitted to continue in the event.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The Sailing Instructions will be available at St. Francis Yacht Club by Thursday, October 1st and may also be available
online (www.stfyc.com).

RACING AREA
The intended racing area will be set on the San Francisco City Front.

FORMAT
Possible formats include but are not limited to: Round Robins, semifinals, and finals. The format to be attempted,
contingency formats (if any) and changes to the format will be described fully in the Sailing Instructions.

SCORING
Scoring will be in accordance with Appendix D, except as modified by the Sailing Instructions.

Authority does not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction
with, prior to, during, or after the regatta.
