Grade 2
Weekly Update
Hello Grade 2 Parents! A peek at what we did this week!
Language:
-We learned about compound words.
(such as birdhouse, softball
-We read non-fiction texts about forces,
motion and energy and discussed their
similarities using Venn Diagrams.
- We learned our new spelling words
which focused on scientific vocabulary

Math:
-We measured different things like how
far we can jump and the length of our
arm spans!
- We used this data to create tally
charts and bar graphs!
- We found the median of these
different things!
-We practiced multiplication number
stories and used arrays to solve them
(And we made our own!)

Science:
-We brainstormed about inventions and
discussed when they were invented and
made a timeline.
-We learned about different inventors
and how they used previous inventions
and finding to create new items!

Next Week:
Next week we have an exciting Spirit
Activity planned, please see it outlined
below in the weekly schedule. This
activity was planned by our Student
Council and winners will receive some
exciting prices!
And of course we cant forget that it is
Sports Day on Thursday
