b. Reference: mathematics foe Better life Grade IV
c. Materials: Activity Chart

Procedure:

a. Preparatory Activities
1. Classroom Setting/Management: ( Prayer )
2. Motivation: ( I will let the pupils sing the mathematics
song )
Square and circle
Square and circle
Triangle, triangle
Rectangle and oblong
Rectangle and oblong
Polygons, polygons
b. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation:
Study these following pictures:

c. Discussion:
the triangle is polygon which has three sides.
it has also the height and base.
if this parallelogram will be divided into two it has a new
form which is a triangle.
Therefore the one area of triangle is one-half of the area
of parallelogram.
How to find the area of triangle?
Here is the formula:
Area of triangle = x base x height ( A= x b x h )

Try to answer this example:

find the area of this triangle,

Formula: A= x b x h
A= x 10 cm x 8 cm

( step 1. )

= x ( 80 cm )

( step 2. )

= 1 x 80 cm
2
= 80 cm
2
= 80 cm 2

( step 3. )

A = 40 cm

( step 4. )
( step 5. )
( Final answer )

Another example :
Find the area of this triangle,

Formula: A = x b x h
= x 12 cm x 10 cm ( Step 1. )
= x ( 120 cm )
= 1 x 120 cm
2
= 120 cm
2
= 120 cm 2
A = 60 cm

( Step 2. )
( Step 3. )
( step 4. )
( step 5. )
( final answer )
