Our Mission
The Moab Valley Multicultural Center is
dedicated to building bridges across language
and culture through family support,
community collaboration, and education.

Client: The Mendez Family

The Mendez* family has used the MVMC
on several occasions for services such as court
advocacy, interpretation, and language
classes. Mrs. Mendez says the Center is
important to her because, We receive help
with any problem we have. The staff always
receives us with a smile; theyre very polite and
always willing to help us. If the Center didnt
exist, at least for me, I dont know what I
would do. The family gives back to the
community by volunteering at cultural events
and participating in youth programs.

Donor: Floyd Humphreys

Floyd and her late husband Jim Stoltzfus
were among the original founders of the
MVMC. The compelling needs of Latinos living
here touched their hearts and thus she and Jim
were very eager to jump on board. Their love
of Mexico and its people is deep-seated,
stemming from their many visits there over

the years. Floyd truly embodies the

understanding that a happy and healthy
community is one where all are honored and
given the opportunity to succeed. Floyd says
that it has been a pleasure to work closely with
the Center during annual fundraising events.
During 2013, Floyd was Chairperson of the
"Day of the Dead" annual fundraiser.

Volunteer: Norma Banuelos

Norma Banuelos is
a longtime volunteer
with the Multicultural
Center. A native of
Tequila, Mexico, she
understands the
importance of having
a place where
immigrants and
minorities can find
crisis intervention
and educational support services. She says the
MVMC is important to the community
because, Its a place where we can find a
solution to all of our problems.
The Center is a place that inspires trust and
where people are received with kindness. In
the 2014 Dancing with the MOAB Stars Event,
Norma donated an enormous amount of time
and expertise as Sheriff Steve Whites Cumbia
dance partner.
