Lesson Plan in Parallelism

Objectives:
1) To differentiate parallel lines from skew lines.
2) To identify interior, exterior, corresponding, alternate interior and alternate
exterior angles.
Lesson Proper
Parallel lines: two lines are parallel iff. they lie on the same plane and do not intersect.
In symbol, AB // CD.
Skew Lines: Two lines are skew iff. they do not lie on the same plane and do not
intersect.
Transversal: A line is a transversal of two or more coplanar lines iff. It intersects them at
different points.

Interior Angles : 3, 4, 5, 6
Exterior Angles: 1, 2, 7, 8
Corresponding Angles: A pair of non-adjacent
angles one interior, one exterior both on the
same side of the transversal are called
corresponding angles.

Alternate Interior Angles: a pair of non-adjacent 3 & 6

interior angles on opposite sides of the transversal.
4 & 5
Alternate Exterior Angles: a pair of non-adjacent 1 & 8
exterior angles on opposite sides of the transversal
2 & 7
are called alternate exterior angles.

Assessment:
