Tuck and Run.Name of Drill Vertical/ Leverage
Use: Daily
Equipment: Cones
Objective: To improve Stance and Starts.
Description: Have the Receiver stand in a proper stance, and run towards the cone. Start off by
having them run straight to the cone. Then Place the cone at a 4Sdegree angle and have them run to it.
Coaching Points:
1. Make sure the Receiver is in a Proper stance, ready to attack the Defensive Back’s Technique.
2. When the Receiver takes his first step his arms should be in a good running form, making the DB think that he it
ready to run a fly pattem.
3. The WR first step should be at the DB, making sure he breaks his technique.
4. Their will be times when you will not have to attack the DB's technique.
5. Make sure the WR comes off the line with low pade level (Don't SHOW YOUR NUMBER)

‘Objective: To work on beating Press Coverage
Description: Pair-up your WR and have them stand in front of each other. One will be the
DB, and the other will be the WR. On your call have the WR release to the right then.to the
left. Then have them switch roles.
Coaching Points:
1. WR must have is hands up. (Ready to fight)
2. When releasing he swats with his outside hand and swims with inside(Be Violent)
3. WR must keep a good body lean and make sure back leg is not to far back. (Don't Show
#)
4. When using the swim move don't bring your arm up to high.
5. When using the swim move make sure you come down hard and fast with your arm,
6. WR must be quick with his feet and hands.
7. WR must work to get on top of the DB.
8. When WR gets on top of the DB, WR should fake one way then break to the side he is

Use: ‘Three Times a week
Equipment: None
Objective: To work on reading defensive Coverage's. (Pre&Post Read)
Description: Set up your WRs and defensive players up, one will be the comerback and the other will
bea safety. The coach will signal the coverage to the defensive players. Once in a while make sure you
disquise your coverage's. After a WR goes through the drill pick a WR out of the group and ask him
which coverage did the defense run.
Coaching Points:
1, WR must have his eyes up.
2, When WR is breaking the huddle his eyes must be down field for is pre-snap read.
3. WR must have total control of his body.
4. When using the swim move don't bring your arm up to high.
5. Be ready to win no matter what they throw at you.
6. WR must be quick with his feet and hands,Name of Drill: Shuffle-Punch
Use: ‘Twice a week
Equipment: Helmet
Objective: To teach the WR how to punch when blocking
Description: Have the WR line up side by side, with their helmets in their hands, holding the
face mask. Then have them jab out on your command. While WR are jabbing have them
shuffle their feet side to side. Make sure the WR has a good base, You can also pair them up
and have them jab their partner.
Coaching Points:
1. Stay low and move your feet.
2. Good body Control.
3. Be violent!
4. Keep hands inside,Name of Drill: Mirror/Run off Stalk
Use: Twice a week
Equipment: NONE
Objective: To teach WR how to block down field.
Description: This is to be done in pairs. One man is on offense, one on defense. The
defensive guy goes on movement. The coach will stand behind the offensive guy and point to
the defensive guy to tell him where to go.
Coaching Points: ,
1. Come off the line like you are running a go route.
2. At about 3-4 yards in front of him start to shufile down, get in a good base.
3. When you start shuffling your feet be ready to mirror the DB.

Once a Week, but if we are playing a cover 2 team we will do it 3 times
in that week.

Objective: To work on blocking DBs that are in Cover 2 defense or in your face.
Description: Pair the WR up, and have them face each other. Have the Defensive player line
up like he is in a cover 2 defense. When the coach says hike the WR attacks the DB. The
'WRs job is to be physical and wash the DB out of the play.
Coaching Points:
1. Be Physical
2. Once you lock on tum your butt towards the RB.
3. Keep your hands inside.
4. Keep your feet moving and wash the DB out of the play.Name of Drill; Fade and Stalk
Use: Twice a week
Equipment: * None
Objective: To teach the WR how to block against man to man coverage.
Description: Pair the WR up on playing defense. The WR will run the DB off till you feel the
DB is going to break off to play the run.
Coaching Points:
1. Stay low and move your feet,
2. Good body Control.
3. Be violent!
4. Keep hands inside.
5. Don't block to early really make the DB think you are running a GO.Name of Drill: Flat-path
Use: ‘Twice a week.
Equipment: Cones
Objective: To work on WR digging out the alley player.
Description: Put a cone down where a DE back leg would be. Line WR up in a straight line,
on your command have them release, towards the cone. When they get to the cone have them
‘tum up-field to dig out the alley player.
Coaching Points: ;
1. Emphasize the first step to be at the cone. :
2. Inside leg should be back.
3. Once you come off the line eyes up field to find alley player.
4. Once you make contact be physical and make sure you wash him out.
5. Ketp a good base.Name of Drill: 4-Square
Use: ‘Three times a week
Equipment: Cones
Objective:, To emphasize the importance of getting in and out of a Break.
Description: Set up a square using 4 cones, place them about five yards apart. The first time
through have the WR run and plant his outside foot in the ground and accelerate, to the next
‘cone. The next time have the WR run through and stutter his feet plant with outside foot, and
accelerate to the next cone. WR will go around the square and finish where they started.
Coaching Points:
1. The WR should throw his shoulders forward violently over his feet. This will enable the
WR to change speed quickly
Body Posture should be facing straight ahead. (Don't Show your #)
. Do not lean back, hop or slow down into the break.(Numbers should be over the knees.)
. Make sure WR accelerates out of his break.
. Make sure arms keep pumping throughout the tum. Keep arms close to the body.
. Keep your eyes and head up.

Objective: To emphasize the importance of getting in and out of a Break.
Description: Place cones at about a 45 degree angle five yards apart from each other. The
WR will run to each cone and break and open to the next cone,
Coaching Points:
1. The WR should throw his shoulders forward violently over his feet. This will enable the
WR to change speed quickly
2. Body Posture should be facing straight ahead. (Don't Show your #)
3. Do not lean back, hop or slow down into the break. (Numbers should be over the knees
4, Make sure WR accelerates out of his break.
5. Make sure arms keep pumping throughout the tum. Keep arms close to the body.
6. Keep your eyes and head up.

‘Objective-1: To emphasize the importance of moving your feet quickly and controling your body at the
same time, while running a route. Objective-2: Teach WR how to use feet to get off press coverage.
Description: Line the cones up in a straight line, about two feet apart. Have WR run through them
‘going in and out of them. Make sure they are moving their feet quickly

1. The WR should throw his shoulders forward violently over his feet. This will enable the WR to
change speed quickly

Objective: To emphasize the last few steps coming out of your break in each route.
Description: Have WR stand in place and run the last few steps of each route. Run each route twice,
Routes to run Curl,Slant,Out,Come-back and Dig.
Coaching Points:
1. The WR should throw his shoulders forward violently over his feet. This will enable the WR to chang

Use: Three times a week
Equipment: Jug machine
Objective: To work on catching the ball with your hands away from the body.
Description: Have WR stand about 7-10 yards away form the jug machine, while you shoot the balls at
him.
Coaching Points:
1. Catch the ball first with your eyes then your hands, (EYE/HAND)
2. Always have your hand in a proper hand postion (Relax your hands)
3. Adove the head and at you: Thumbs and index finger facing each other away from the body(No
Diamond Please)
4. Over the Shoulder: Pinkies together and palms up away from the body.
5. Below the waist: Thumbs out and pinkies together along with a knee bend away from the body.
6. Ifthe ball is thrown low and away either behind or in front, then WR must go down and get it.
7. Look the ball all the way into the pocket.
8. When ball is behind you gather yourself and open up to the ball.
9. Always make sure you are under contol when ball is coming towards you.

‘Objective: To work on catching the ball with your hands away from the body.
Description: Line WRs up in a straight line and the coach will throw ball at them. WR will catch each
type of ball twice.
Coaching Points:
1. Catch the ball first with your eyes then your hands. (EYE/HAND)
2. Always have your hand in a proper hand postion.(Relax your hands)
3. Adove the head and at you: Thumbs and index finger facing each other away from the body (No
Diamond Please)
4. Over the Shoulder: Pinkies together and palms up away from the body.

Objective: To teach WR how to catch a ball in traffic.
Description: Have two WR hold bags facing each other, while the other WR tries to catch the ball in

Coaching Points:
1, Keep your eyes on the ball at all times,
2. Look the ball all the way into the pocket.
3. Protect your body after the catch. (Brace for impact)
4, Focus on the white lines on the ball.Name of Drill: Jump Ball
Use: Daily
Equipment: Ball
Objective: Teach WR how to jump for a ball while ball is in the air.
Description: This is to be done in pairs. One man is on offense, one on defense, The coach will throw
the ball high over the shoulder of the defensive guy, while the WR jumps up to catch it at it's high point.
Coaching Points:
1. Catch the ball at it's high point,
2, Keep your eyes on the ball.
3. Look it in all the way into the pocket.
4, Gather your feet together before you jump up for the ball.
5. Be aggressive when going up for the ball.
6. Go up with total control of your body.Side-Line
Use: ‘Three time a week.
‘Equipment: ALL you need is lines.
‘Objective: To teach WRs how to catch the ball near the side-line while keeping both feet in bounce.
Description: Have WRs line up in a straight line facing the side-line. On the coach's command the WR.
will run towards the side line, while the coach throws the ball at him. The WR must catch the ball with
‘Two feet in bounce. In college all you need is one but have them practice keeping two in bounce.
Coaching Points:
1. Catch the ball first with your eyes then your hands, (EYE/HAND)
2. Always have your hand in a proper hand postion.(Relax your hands)
3. Adove the head and at you: Thumbs and index finger facing each other away from the body (No

4. Below the waist: Thumbs out and pinkies together along with a knee bend away from the body.

6. Use your peripheral vision to see the side line while you are focusing on the ball.

Use: Twice a week
Equipment: Football
Objective: To teach WR how to hold and run with the ball in traffic.
Description: Have WRs line up and face each other in a straight line. Have one WR step to the back of
the line, On your command tell him to face you and throw him the ball. He must run through, the group
while they try to strip the ball.
Coaching Points:
1. Hold the ball close to your body.
2. Have your hand on the nose of the ball. (Three points is ok)
3. In traffic put two hands on the ball.
