This packing is available in both metal and plastic.

A key feature of this packing is the aspect ratio
(height divided by diameter) of 0.3, which gives it
significantly more capacity and efficiency and a
much lower pressure drop than equivalent size pall
rings.

For stripping and absorption applications DtEC

supplies a high performance random plastic packing
unmatched by any 2nd generation packing. The
nominal size of the packing is equivalent to 2" with a
specific surface area of 101.5 m2/m3 and a packing
factor of 42.7 m-1. It offers the following advantages:
26% greater capacity than 2" pall rings
60% greater capacity than 1" pall rings
68% greater efficiency than 3" pall rings
25% greater efficiency than 2" pall rings
10% greater efficiency than 1" pall rings
20% lower pressure drop than 3" pall rings
50% lower pressure drop than 2" pall rings
8% lower pressure drop than 1" pall rings
The pressure drop savings translate to considerable
increases in capacity and hence the size of new
towers and fans can be significantly reduced.
