Commitment to Students and Student Learning

James has taken a genuine interest in the learning and development of his students. He was quick to learn
the names of all of his students and he has made a commitment to develop a rapport with them. He has high
educational standards for his students and himself. James has proven to be an excellent role model for his
students and he has provided a positive learning environment. He has focused on the individual needs and
diversification of the the students in the various classes.
Knowledge

James has a solid athletic and academic background and this has allowed him to be proficient in most
disciplines of teaching physical education. He is very confident in his own abilities and he is very comfortable
in front of the students. James shows initiative and leadership and is also open and willing to listen to any
ideas and suggestions that are presented to him.
Teaching Practice

James has effectively planned and taught lessons in several different areas of physical education. This
includes such areas as Interactive games, Weight training, Crossfit training and Volleyball. During these
activities he has used a variety of different instructional strategies. These have included both teacher and
student centered instructions. James has also used differentiated teaching practices to help meet the needs
of the special needs students that he has in our classes.
His lesson plans are well organized and are challenging and relevant for his students. He continues to learn
and employ effective strategies that help promote his time management and pace of lesson skills. James
recognizes when his drill and activities are running well and makes adjustments and alterations when they
are not. He is learning how to recognize off task behaviour and how to deal with it quickly and effectively to
help minimize any class interruption.

James arrives at school at a suitable time and his lesson plans are always planned in advance. He is eager
to share them with me and is open to thoughts and ideas prior to teaching his lessons. James is a mature,

and responsible young man that gets along well with his teaching peers, students, and other teacher
associates. He is enthusiastic and it is evident that he enjoys what he is doing.
Leadership and Community

James was eager and ready to start his teaching placement. We met together well in his advance of his
placement and James was very interested in learning about teaching physical education. He is a confident
individual that is willing to take on any teaching task or assignment with great competency and minimal
direction.
Ongoing Professional Learning

James will continue to plan and implement his lesson plans. Over the last two weeks of his teaching
placement he will continue to perfect his time management skills and pace of lessons. He will continue to
work on recognizing off task behaviour and learn to deal with it effectively and efficient with minimal or no
confrontation. James will continue to work on a variety of different strategies and techniques and employ the
one most suitable for his students.
