SUTURES
Sutures are made up of
connective tissues and it is
located in the skull.
Helps to protect the brain and
form facial structure.
Forms a tight union that prevent
most movements from the bones.

VERTEBRAE COLUMN
The vertebrae column includes three main
parts:
Cervical
Thoracic
Lumbar
Together they support the body to move and
do other things.
Nerves are located in the vertebrae column
and it's spread throughout the body.
The sacral and the coccyx both fused
together.

PARTS OF THE STERNUM


Manubrium:
- Most superior part of the sternum.
- Attaches from the first two ribs.
Body:
- Longest part of the sternum.
- Located from the second to the tenth ribs.
Xiphoid Process:
- Smallest part of the body.
- Diaphragm is the attachment point.

COMMON NAMES
Sternum (breast bone)
Scapula (shoulder blade)
Patella (knee cap)
Carpals (wrist bones)

COMMON NAMES (1)


A common name for sternum,
also known as breast bone.
Its function is to protect the
heart, lungs, and important blood
vessels.
It's sub-divided to 3 sections:
Manubrium
Body
Xiphoid Process

Another name for
scapula is shoulder
blade.
Its function is to lift,
which is the bone that is
connected to the humerus
and the collar bone.

COMMON NAMES (3)


A knee cap is another
way we can call a
patella.
It allows movement in
the leg.
It protects the anterior
surface of the knee
joint.

COMMON NAMES (4)


A common name for carpals is
wrist bones.
It allows hand motions and
made up of 8 tiny bones.

"FLOATING RIB"
Does not attach to the rib cage.
