British Bulldog
One or more (if large space) are selected to play the parts
of the "bulldogs".
The bulldogs stand in the middle of the play area. All
remaining players stand at one end of the area (home).
The aim of the game is to run from one end of the field of
play to the other, without being caught by the bulldogs.
When a player is caught, they become a bulldog
themselves.
The winner is the last player or players 'free'.

Learning Activities/Teaching Strategies

- Cricket games versus 4
Students get into groups of 4 or 5 depending on number of
students in class
They will need a bowler, fielder, batsman, and wicketkeeper
Individuals will rotate through all the positions
Students will get 3 bowls from the bowler to hit
Bowler will be provided from batting teams team and will
rotate in to have their turn at bowling.
Once they hit the ball, they will run from the batting
area(in front of the wickets) to the cone(where the bowler
is placed) and back to score a run.
Individuals are able to score as many runs as possible till it
is safe or they are out.
Ways to get out: Ball is caught after it is hit, ball or bat hits
the wicket, and wicket-keeper touches the stumps with the
ball before the batter can return to the base safely.
Batter needs to make sure to touch their bat on the back
side of the wickets to remain safe after each bowl.
- Variations: Teams of 4 now play against another group of
four. Same rules apply to this game.
Equipment
- Wickets
- Cricket bats

Safety Considerations

Using flat side of the bat
Touching the bat behind
the stumps after each
