Rat and Ox
The first pair is the Rat and the Ox. The Rat
represents wisdom and the Ox symbolises
diligence. Wisdom and diligence must go hand
in hand. If a person has only has wisdom without
diligence, that person would just be shrewd. If a
person was solely diligent without intelligence,
that person would lack wisdom.
So both wisdom and diligence must be combined.
The first set of standards of the ancient Chinese on
themselves is represented by the Rat and the Ox.

their excellent analytical skills. Their diplomatic

sense of justice, which can lead to reacting bluntly.
Although open minded, they can be obstinate

Dog Characteristics
Advice for 2013
Good fortune is on its way, but beware; there
is likely to be bad luck that comes before the
reward. Try to worry less and remember your
responsibilities.
Personality
Dogs make loyal and faithful friends. Honest and
trustworthy, they are excellent listeners and very
attentive. They are always ready to offer kind
words and support to those in need.
They have a strong sense of responsibility and
care more about the welfare of others than money
or fame. Although they mean well, they can
overpower a situation due to their attentiveness,
even if they are not directly involved. They are
creative and will often take on more work to
lessen the load of others.
Dogs like to be comfortable and to have a wellorganised home. They are hard workers and good
at saving. They dont like to be treated unfairly.
Dogs always put family first. They like to make
everyone happy and try to avoid getting angry or
hurting others feelings. They have lots of friends
and dont hold grudges or bad feelings towards
other people.

Pig Characteristics
Advice for 2013
This year, wealth is not easily accumulated and too
easily lost. Be cautious with decision-making and
avoid risky investments.
Personality
Pigs are extremely patient, understanding and
giving. They would rather give than receive. They
would do almost anything for a friend in need
and still enjoy life to the fullest. They are genuine,
caring, affectionate and grateful for all they have.
Pigs try hard to maintain the peace among their
friends and family. People may take advantage of
their kind nature, but they are never burdened by
it and quickly forgive and forget.
Pigs like to spend money and tend to be
materialistic. They prefer to be around people
than being alone. They like to host and attend
parties sometimes too much and are prone to
indulgence. However, they enjoy being at home
and make devoted parents and happy, confident
children.
Pigs thrive when they are given the opportunity
for creative expression. They have a keen eye for
details, are enthusiastic at work and are happy to
take on responsibilites.
