ELEMENTARY MCAS TESTING SCHEDULE & INFORMATION

March 2015
Dear Parent or Guardian,
Lexington elementary students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will participate in the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment
System (MCAS). The schedule for MCAS test administration in our elementary schools is listed below. I encourage you to
make sure that your child gets enough rest, eats properly, and gets to school on time every day. The Lexington Public
Schools offers all children a challenging curriculum based on the State Frameworks and the Common Core, so students are
well prepared through their instructional program to meet the expectations of the MCAS assessment. Parents can also help
children to feel comfortable about taking the test by reassuring them that the MCAS, although important, is only one
indicator of student performance. Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to call me or contact your schools
principal.
