This proposal aims to reevaluate the design of modern libraries by refocusing them on knowledge rather than physical books. Traditionally, libraries centered around printed books but with digital technology now the primary means of accessing information, libraries can evolve into places that expand understanding through knowledge from any source. The geometry of the proposed building is organized around the topography of the site and existing development grids to form a customized mesh specific to the location.

This project aims to reevaluate the terms with which
we design libraries in the 21st century. Traditionally the library is synonymous with books. This made sense when books were civilisations primary way of storing and distributing knowledge. However with the advent of information technology and the Internet, our predominant source of knowledge has shifted from the printed page to the pixels on our screens. We have the opportunity to rethink the traditional notion of the library. By refocusing the library on knowledge it can become a place to expand understanding, discover new worlds and induce productivity and creativity an evolution to the next century of learning.
