Course Description: This is an elective course that carries 3 credit hours. It deals with the time line of Russian history from the foundation in the 9th century to modern day events. Course Goals and Expectations: The goal of this course is to engage the students in the historical and factual knowledge concerning the largest country on earth, Russia. Students are expected to attend each class lecture and to complete each assignment on time. Assignments: Lecture Quizzes: (20 quizzes at 10 points each, 200 points total, 20% of grade) Class participation: (10% of grade) Midterm Exam: (100 points equaling 10% of grade) Final Exam: (200 points equaling 20% of grade) Short Papers: (4 papers at 50 points each, 200 points total, 20% of grade) Class Presentations: (2 presentations at 100 points each, 200 points total, 20% of grade) Class Rules: Do not talk while the teacher is talking unless given permission by the teacher.
