Cookies to Opposite (contra- lateral) hip

Have your pet take a treat from near the hip region on the good side.
This creates bending away from the good side and shifts weight onto
the problematic side. Also have your pet perform this the other side in
order to stretch their back or paralumbar muscles.
Animal positioning:
It is important to have your pets in the standing position with you
standing in front of your pet.
Hand Positioning:
Have a treat in one hand and showed the treat to your pet. Now that
your pet has seen the treat, take that hand with the treat and slowly
bring it around your pet's side and rest against their hip. Once you've
held this position for 20 seconds move back to the original position
with your pets head facing forward and repeat the exercise on the
other side. You may have to swap the treat to the other hand as you
change exercise sides.

Purpose of Exercise: To increase active range of motion of the spine.


Pets Position:
Start with your pet in standing.
Duration:
Hold for 20 seconds.
Repetitions:
5 times to each side, 2 times a day.
