To Whom it May Concern:
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for
Kimberly Marchesseault. There are people in this world who have an
ability to connect with children on both a personal and an educational
level, and that is Kim. She is natural and comfortable in her teaching
approach, and both children and parents alike respond to her warm,
caring personality. Any school department would consider her a
treasure.
Working in the kindergarten classroom next to hers, I was able to
observe her interactions with the children in her classroom on a daily
basis. Kindergarteners are a widely diversified group: they come from
many different backgrounds and bring with them a variety of expectations
(as well as anxieties) to the beginning of their school experience.
Kindergarteners require many different forms of attention and a teacher
who possesses the necessary creative skills to administer to each
individual child, based on their specific needs.
Kim is exceptional in her teaching approach to every child as an
individual. She is able to teach and connect with children based on
their ability to interpret, and to foster within them not only the
desire to learn, but also the desire to achieve. 1 have seen her
delight when a struggling student has mastered a new skill. She will
use different approaches with children to make the learning experience
positive and inspiring, leaving the child eager to learn more. To be
able to create such a warm, positive, nurturing experience for first
time learners in the very beginnings of their education gives students
the confidence they need to be successful learners throughout their
educational process.
Without hesitation, I recommend Kimberly Marchesseault for a teaching
position within your school district. She will be an asset to your
school, and you will find that children and parents will both respond to
her genuine love of teaching.

SAU #84‘To Whom It May Concern,
This is not your typical reference letter, as I am torn between doing the right thing and doing sabotage.
Kimberly Marchesseault has applied for a position in your school and has asked for references. 1,
Kristen Lucas, happen to be one of those people that she has asked. Our son Stephen had Kim for his
Kindergarten teacher last year, and we all fell in love...with Kim, that is! So, itis hard to let her go,
even though we know that we will not have her as a teacher again.
Kim is that teacher that everyone wants, she is the “it” teacher and if you don’t get her, you are out of
luck! She is kind and encouraging, quiet and smart. She has a way of engaging the kids and helping
them learn and they don’t even know it! She cherishes the little things and applauds the
accomplishments of each and every one of her students. She is the kind of teacher that you want your
child to have every year. She loves her job and it is evident in the way she handles herself and her
students. I would be sad to see her go, but I know that whoever gets her, will be damn lucky!
So, with a heavy heart, I write this letter of reference for Kim. There are so many things I could say, but
‘you might think I am embellishing on the subject. I will just leave it at this; she is a marvelous teacher
and person and will make a very fine teacher for your school.
If there are any questions, please do feel free to contact me at 444-1042.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Kristen Lucas and the Lucas Family

Please accept this as a letter of reference for Patrick and Kimberly Marchesseault. We have known Patrick
and Kim for about 4 years and understand that they have applied to provide foster care. We feel honored
to write this letter and are pleased to highly recommend them as excellent parents.
We have 2 children, and after meeting Kim and Patrick and seeing Kim’s interactions with children at the
school, requested that both of our children, our daughter is now a 3" grader and our son is now a1"
grader, be in Kim's classroom at Lakeway Elementary School. Our children absolutely adored her as their
teacher and we always knew that she had our children’s best interests at heart as well as every other child
that she meets. We knew that they would be treated with respect and kindness at every moment of the
day and that they would get absolutely everything they needed to be successful and have a soli
foundation for their first experience in elementary school and they did. Deb has also had the privilege of
volunteering on numerous occasions in Kim’s classroom and watching her work with her class as a whole
unit and with each child individually. Kim has a very quiet, soft-spoken voice that keeps the children
feeling safe and calm at all times, but at the same time she has clear rules and expectations and the
children learn respect and caring for other people's feelings from the example she sets for each and every
one of her students by the way she treats them each day. She has a way of making each child feel like they
are the most important person in the world and she fosters their self confidence and self esteem,
‘We know that Patrick and Kim have the experience and thoughtfulness it takes to work through the day-
‘to-day responsibilities of having children. We have also seen how much love they have to share with each
other and with Patrick’s children from his 1* marriage and we know that any child that might come into
their home will certainly feel that love. We feel confident that they will meet and exceed any challenges
that foster parenting might provide them and that they will be able to provide the stability and love that
every child deserves. We have no hesitation recommending this couple for foster care to you.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Sincerely, a

1.was first introduced to Kimberly Marchesseault when she became my son’s kindergarten teacher.
Being an overly protective mother, I had spent several months before the start of the school year trying
to learn more about each kindergarten teacher. After speaking to many families with children already
enrolled into the school system, there was no question as to who my husband and I were going to
request to be our son’s first teacher. At the start of the new academic year, 1 had no idea how much our
family would be blessed by having Kim in our lives.
ur son, Brenton, had never been away from me for more then an hour or two at a time and he had
never been left alone with anyone aside from immediately family. He was more than overwhelmed with,
the thought of becoming a student, On the first morning of school, Brenton had an ineredibly hard
drop-off and I thought for sure this would set the tone for the rest of the school year. That same evening
T knew that my request for Kim to be his teacher was the right choice. She left us a voice mail (that we
still listen too!) that put all of my fears to ease.
Within a month of having her as a teacher, Brenton had come out of his shell, made new friends,
absolutely adored his teacher and most importantly, was thriving academically. He looked forward to
‘going to school and seeing “Mrs, M” and was really enjoying his school experience. That same month,
our family leamed of a much unexpected deployment for my husband that would have him stationed in
‘Afghanistan for the remainder of the school year. Kim became not only our son’s teacher but a friend of
the family at this point.
The first few weeks following my husband’s departure, Brenton was left physically sick to his stomach
and full of fear. He was emotionally fragile and no longer wanted to attend school or be away from
home. Kim managed to take an incredibly sad time and tum it into something positive. Her everyday
actions somehow managed to lessen Brenton’s sadness and even give him a sense of pride. She
incorporated class emails to Brent's daddy into the day and stirred up positive curiosity among his
classmates. Brenton had once again come to love school and looked forward to the different things Kim
‘would think up to do to help make the deployment go quickly and smoothly. She had also become a
sense of stability and a shoulder to lean on for myself.
She took the definition of teacher to a whole new category. She went above and beyond her job for our
family and so many others. Her dedication and genuine love for children is shown daily. My husband
and I feel that any child would be beyond lucky to have her as a part of his/her life.
‘We could never say enough good things about Kim Marchesseault and hope this letter in some way
shows you how grateful we are that she has been a part of our lives. We look forward to her teaching
our younger daughter when the time comes and know that our experience then will be just as rewarding
as it was with our son.
