The novels of Branko opi contain an obj ective reality of the events in the recollection of
the chi ldhood and in . i i cont i nues i n the author ' s ex perience, in the i maginar y durati on and
in his vvaking dreams. T hr ough the analy sis of three of hi s novels: V svij etu mog dj eda (In the Worl d
of Grandfather ), 1939, Pr ia o vel ikom obani nu (A St or y About a Bi g Shepherd), 1939, and
Bata slj ezove boj e (Garden of M all ow Col or), 1964, in which the common heroes are a boy - the
narrator and his grandfather Rade, it has been demonstrated that the f orms of these novel s have a
f l awless biographic character. The author talks about himsel f and has no resi stance to the recollection
of his chil dhood, the past and t heir dur&tion and interweaves the evocation with warmth and melanchol y
in hi s narrati on. The author bui lds the overall experience and acceptance of the stor y on the remi niscence as an aut obi ographi cal factor.
