Respected Sir,
With reference to the above subject, at PfA, Bangalore, we are rehabilitating fortyfive plus macaques which are
injured, abandoned and handicapped due to accidents, electrocution, etc.,as shown through our monthly, quarterly reports vide ref.1
and ref.2.
The macaques with limb deformities, with three/two/one limb, amputated macaques can not be released into forest
as they can not walk and find their feed. So, based on humanitarian grounds, this remains as a part of our duty to provide them lifetime-care.

We need to build a lifetime enclosure for monkeys whom cannot be released back to the wild. PFA appeals to
your generosity to fund this special home. This will be the first of its kind in India, which will hopefully inspire more people towards
animal welfare activities. Hundreds of children who visit our centre will be inspired by how these animals adjust to their handicaps
and carry on with life in a carefree manner.
These inmates are also likely to inspire the handicapped people to have a more positive approach to life.
PFA currently has many macaques who will remain permanent residents at our rehabilitation centre. They are either blind or
physically incapable of surviving in the wild as have amputated limbs.
While these macaques can never be released in the wild, PFA would like to provide them and other similar ones
with a protected and socially conducive environment to live out their lives. Attached document shares complete details of some of
these construction details and financial estimate of LTC home. The LIFE-TIME-CARE facility is specially designed to meet the
requirements of these blind and amputee macaques.
The facility will have permanently built perches and ladders keeping in mind the minimum amount of exercise that
should be given to the macaques for a healthy living. These enrichments will replicate the natural environment and will support and
ease the daily functioning of the macaques.
These macaques are presently housed in separate enclosures. Macaques are social animals. Their survival is
dependent on each other. Feeding, grooming each other and sharing the same space is an important part of their inherent behaviour.
They need a place, a protected space to care for and live together. They need a home to cater to their special needs. They need a
LIFETIME CARE CENTER.
Kindly extend your co-operation and support for us in constructing a lifetime care shelter for blind, physically incapable
macaques by presenting this proposal before the technical committee meeting on 10.03.2015 and help our proposal getting
sanctioned by the committee, thereby ensuring a life with full freedom to incapable macaques.

Yours sincerely,
Dr.C.Shankaranarayanan,BVScMBA.,
