Blue Phoenix Wins MUST Days Radio Drama

The Radio drama competition during the MUST Days was won by the College of Policy Studies
Education and Management (CPSEM) last February 6, 2015 at the Performing Arts Theater.
Ang Nahasalaag na Amahan was the title of the CPSEMs radio drama. A story about a father
who commited adultery, left his family and amend all things in the end when he realizes its
effect to his daughter. CPSEM members had mixed emotions when they were announced as the
champion.
The best actress award was won by Shaira Mae Abragan also from CPSEM a 3 rd yr.SPED
student, act as the daughter in the story. She said, ako ulawon man jud ko. And wala jud ko
nag expect na maka daog ko ane While the best actor was won by Mr.Flores from the CIIT.
The competition was also participated by the different colleges of the university: CIIT for Ang
akong Sugilanon ranked 1st runner up, CEA for Radyo ni Ante ranked 2 nd runner up and CAS
for Loreta ang Babayeng langyaw sa kaugalingong kalibutan ranked 3rd runner up each
represented by five members.
Participants must also follow the guidelines given before joining the competition which are:
participant must be bonafide MUST student; one team per college with five members; participant
must give a copy of a script before the day of the competition; story must moral character

building theme; two microphones are only given; recorded music are included; only given 5 mins
and if exceed, one point deduction per minute; and judges decision are final.
The judges for the competition were Ms. Donita Felecilda, a college instructor, Mr. Rojean
Garcia also known as Jo Romantico, an MOR DJ, and Mr. Malvern Esparcia also known as
Bernie bitok-bitok, the radio head of MOR. After the competition, Mr. Malvern Esparcia also
shared key points on how to do radio drama, like; avoid redundancy, avoid narrating all the scene
and do not be in a hurry.
A lot of exciting competitions will be presented next school year for the MUSTeans and for that,
let us take what Sarah said to her fellow MUSTeans, grab lang jud ta sa opportunity.#
