    Flexible surface acoustic wave devices use piezoelectric polymers and interdigitated transducers to excite and detect surface acoustic waves for use as wearable sensors. An interdigitated transducer launches surface acoustic waves into a piezoelectric substrate, which can then sense changes in mass or temperature by measuring shifts in the resonance frequency detected at the output interdigitated transducer. Simulation and experimental results show the insertion loss of a 12 micrometer period surface acoustic wave resonator and a 24 micrometer delay line on the flexible substrate.
