We will continue the unit on
Balance and Weighing this week.
Students will continue to learn
about balance and how to use an
equal arm balance to weigh various
items. They will use the equal arm
balance to compare objects and
predict the serial order from
lightest to heaviest. Students will
also predict where two new objects will fit in the
serial order for

Poetry Caf
coming in April!

Second grade will participate in the Poetry Caf

during the month of April. We will begin a unit
on Poetry after the break. Students will learn
about different types of poems and devices used
in writing poetry during Media. Examples include rhyming poems, alliteration, similes, and
free verse poetry. Children will choose a poem
to perform in front of their peers. They will
practice reading their poem out loud before performing. We are excited about this unique experience to accomplish our 2nd grade poetry
standards. Please make sure to wear jeans and a
black shirt to coincide with our 1960s theme.
Poetry Caf is the
week of April 27th.
