Box 328 404-765-5481 hhahne@allentownsd.org ‘Allontown, PA 18105 FAX: 484-785-5409 494-768-4000 February 24, 2015 To Whom It May Concern: Ihave had the extreme privilege of hosting Kaitlyn Murphy as my Professional Semester student from Kutztown University in the Fall of 2014. Kaitlyn participated in all of the classes I service as a Learning Support teacher. She had the experience of working in an inclusion setting as well as a pull out setting servicing First and Fourth Grade Reading, Second and Fourth Grade Math as well as Fourth Grade Writing. Kaitlyn has a very natural way about her. She relates easily to the students and commands their respect. Kaitlyn took the initiative on several ‘oceasions when I had to handle situations that arose on the spur of the moment without any hesitation. Kaitlyn had well planned and executed lessons both in Math and Writing. She was able to follow and instruct the direct instruction reading program that we use in our school district. Her enthusiasm for teaching is evident throughout her intera the students and her well-developed lessons. Her lessons included technology, hands-on activities and games, as well as individual worksheets to evaluate students’ progress and understanding of the concepts she introduced. Her lessons were very creative and she was able to keep all of the students on task and engaged during each of her lessons. She is extremely positive and treats each child uniquely. Kaitlyn’s biggest asset is her natural ability to relate to students and her creative lessons. Thighly recommend Kaitlyn for any teaching position your school district may have available. 1 would be more than happy to discuss Kaitlyn’s full range of abilities and her ability to reach all students’ needs.
