http://www.calrecycle.ca.gov/greenbuilding/basics.htm
This website gives information on what a Green building is. Which is a buildings that
reach certain requirements, such as protecting occupant health, energy efficiency, water
efficiency etc... It also provides the benefits to having built a green building. Some of those
benefits being: the life span of the building, saving money in the long run on the operation of the
building etc.... Its gives the elements of a green building. The elements are specific for the site,
the energy, materials and water efficiency, occupant health and safety and building operation and
maintenance. All of these things are in every building, however, in a green building they have
to meet requirements that are safer for the
environment and the people. Where in regular buildings the safety is usually only for the people.
This site is a credible source because it provided the basic information to what a green
building is and a few tips on how to make sure the building is a success. It also provides the
resources that were used at the bottom.

2. "AHPS Precipitation Analysis." AHPS Precipitation Analysis. N.p., n.d. Web. 24 Feb. 2015.

This website provided me with information on how much precipitation the state of
Pennsylvania has had in the year of 2014, 2013. It also provided me with how much precipitation
that Pennsylvania has had in the month of January of this year, 2015. The amount that the state

more than 25-40 inches. In the year 2014 the state had between 25-60 inches of rain (in the
middle region). Some areas have had between 60-70 inches. (mainly in the eastern region).
January of this year,2015, the state has had 1 to 3 inches. Some areas have had a little over 8
inches (mainly in the eastern region).
This site is a credible source because its .gov and the website provides its credits at the
bottom. The credits provide everything (well at least I believe is everything) that the website has
used to gather its information. It also provides a brief description of each source that is listed and
the websites to the sources to the sources if one was available.

This website provided me with information on the topography of the city of Lakewood,
PA. The map was created by the USGS (U.S. Geological Survey).
I used the satellite version to look at the city of Lakewood, PA because I thought that it was a
better view. It actually showed the vegetation that the city has. It has a lot of trees and valleys.
This is a credible source because it provides a topographic map from USGS, which was the first

houses. A benefit would be that people owning a green home would be they are designed to
lower the usage of water (lowering the water bill). Also, it provides the market of green homes
compared to that of a regular home. There are around 181,000 houses that are certified LEED
housing.

bottom of the page. The resources are credible/ reliable resources.

5. "Solar Power Energy Information, Solar Power Energy Facts - National Geographic."
National Geographic. N.p., n.d. Web. 26 Feb. 2015.
http://environment.nationalgeographic.com/environment/global-warming/solar-power-profile
This site provided me with how solar panels receive its energy and some alternative ways
to having solar panels. The way that they get energy is that the solar panels is that they absorb
the heat from the sun and stores the energy from the heat. Which then is used for everyday uses.
Such as light. An alternative to the solar panels could be to have large windows.. The large
windows would allow heat to enter the occupation and the heat that is gathered would be
distributed to the materials on the inside of the occupation, and in return heating up the materials
that absorb heat.
This is a credible source because its from the National Geographic Channel.
