CYBER SECURITY SECTOR UPDATE

ASSOCHAM has been at the forefront of highlighting the threats of cyber attack and
cyber crime in India.
ASSOCHAM has been partnering with the Council of Europe stras bourg since 2007 in
organizing the National Conference on Cyber Security in New Delhi
The ASSOCHAM Conference on Cyber Security has been Officially Supported by
CERT-In, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of
India.
ASSOCHAM has invited participation from leading Government Agencies including CBI,
IB, Cabinet Secretariat, NTRO, Net grid, NIA, State Police Department and Cyber
Security Cell and Income Tax Department to name a few.
Recently the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of
India had organized a Roundtable Discussion on Section-79 of IT act.
This Roundtable Discussion was Chaired by Honble Union Minister for
Communications and Information Technology, with the presence of the Secretary,
DEITY .
ASSOCHAM was represented in this Meeting by its Member Yahoo India.
Section-79 of IT Act has been welcomed by the Industry as it provides some degree of
safe harbor to the intermediary.
