    Question/Problem:
    Howwillthelengthoftheswingerdeterminehowmanyswingswill
    occurin15seconds?

    Hypothesis:Ithinkthatthelongerthestring,thelessswingswillhappenin15seconds,andthe
    shorterthestring,moreswingswillhappenin15seconds.

    Experiment

    Materials:20groszycoin,string,paperclip,swingerstructure,datasheet,pencil,tape,
    blueswingerholderwithclips,chair,table

    Procedure:Firstwearrangedallthematerialsandstartedourexperimentwiththeshortest
    swinger.Theshortestswingerwas17cm.Thelongestlengthofstringweusedwas200cm.
    Listoflengthsofstring:17cm,20cm,22cm,29cm,45cm,55cm,70cm,90cm,120cm,170
    cm,and200cm.Wechosethreestudentsfromourclasstobethegetter,theplacer,andthe
    swingertoconducttheexperiment.Thegetterwouldtakeoneoftheshorteststringsand
    callsoutthelength.Aftercallingoutthelength,thegetterattachesthe20groszycointothe
    paperclipontheendofthestring.Thegetterthengivesthestringtotheswinger,
    whothentapesthestringtotheswingerstructure.Next,wehadthestartingangleinahorizontal
    line/paralleltothefloor,andletgowhenMr.Chongsaid,Go!.Wecountedtheamountof
    swingsin15seconds.Whentheperiodoftimeendedandwehadcountedhowmanyswingsthe
    swingerhadswung,theswingertookthestringoffoftheswingerstructure,andhandedthe
    stringtotheplacer,whoplacedthestringontheblueswingerholderwithclips.Wethen
    recordedthisdata.Werepeatedthisabouttenmoretimes.Aswecountedtheamountofswings
    theswingerswungin15seconds,wealsotookobservationalnotesaboutwhathappenedwhen
    thestringhitthestructure,andsimilarthings.

    Conclusion:
    Ipredictedthatthelongertheswinger,lessswingstheswingerwouldswingin15seconds.
    Afterconductingtheexperiment,Ifoundoutthatmyhypothesiswascorrect.Afterseeingthe
    datawecollected,Inoticedthateverythingonthechart/graphwascorrectexceptforthelastone,
    whichwas20cm.Iexpectedtheamountofswingstobeahighernumberlike16insteadof14.
    Thelengthofa17cmstringswung17swings,andthelengthofthe22cmstringswung15
    swings.Ithoughtthatthe20cmstringwouldswingaround16swingsbecausethatisthe
    amountofswingsinbetweentheamountof17swingsand15swings.Otherwise,fortherestof
    theswingers,thelongerthelength,thefewerswingswereswungin15seconds.OnequestionI
    haveisaboutthe20cmlengthstring.Myquestionis,whydidthe20cmstringhavelessswings
    thanthe22cmstring?Itsusuallythelongerthestring,theslowerorthelessswingsareswung.
    Mysecondquestionis,howisitthatthe170and200cmstringshaveexactly5swingsin15
    seconds?Otherlengthsofstringare20cmapartinlength,andbetween170cmand200cmis
    30cm.Abiggeramountofcentimetersinbetweenthetwolengthsandtheystillhavetheexact
    sameamountofswings.Otherlengthsthatareonly20cmapartinlengthareawholenumber
    lower.SomethingIrecommendforthefutureistomaketheswingerstructuremoresturdy
    becauseInoticedthatsometimes,whenthestringgotquitelong,thestructurewouldshakea
    littlecausingtheswingertoslowdownalittle.Also,weshouldfigureoutawaytokeepthe
    swingerfromgoingincircleswhenitslowsdownbecauseitishardertocounthowmanyswings
    whenitisgoingincircles.
