The Morning Meeting model is designed to:

Set the tone for respectful learning


Establish a climate of trust
Motivate students to feel significant
Create empathy and encourage collaboration
Support social, emotional and academic learning

The components of the morning meeting are greeting, sharing, group activity,
the power of why and announcements.

There are center activities out as well as a place for independent work.
There is a storage area so they can work on their projects over time or at
other times in the day.

Parallel Block Scheduling allowing students to interchange between
homogeneous and heterogeneous groupings for ELA & Mathematics.
This model can be expanded over the entire two hour period devoted to
humanities.

Teachers create an inquiry-centered classroom. Creatively design
assessments that will assess the application of knowledge rather than
recall of facts.
