1. Literature review is completely inadequate.

2. The author discuss only about the trends towards the HVDC transmission. Moreover, they
concentrated about the comparison between HVAC and HVDC lines.
3. As their work is related with Electric field distribution in a string of insulators, literature
survey has to be made for electric field distribution in HVDC insulators. There are so many
published literatures are there.
4. In the abstract, it is given as simulation studies are carried out for faulty condition and polluted
condition. It is very clear and well know truth, the insulators near the high voltage end has high
stress compared to ground. If insulator fails means, the insulator near the high voltage will fail
first. Why there is a necessity for changing the faulty disc position. What is faulty condition
actually mean in your paper?
5. What is the practical situation which resemble, the faulty disc at different position?
6. Similarly work has been carried out for pollution studies. During simulation studies, what
pollution they applied?
7. What they mean by non uniform pollution? Varying conductivity does not mean non uniform
pollution? It simply refers the severity of the pollution?
8. Non uniform pollution means, sometimes the top of insulation has different severity than
bottom. Similarly severity may vary between the disc? What situation they carried out in their
work.
9. The authors said the works have been carried out C++ and graphs were drawn using matlab.
How the insulators are modeled in C++, whether they modeled the insulator diagrams in C++.
Then what is the role for matlab. What is the exact work carried in C++. No clear cut
explanation in the paper
10. Similarly the figure output graphs must be explained. The explanation of figure caption is
done in the paper which is highly inadequate.
11. No comparision between simulated and experimental studies. Then they must modify the
abstract. Moreover there is no interesting result in this paper as they indicated in their abstract.
12. Before doing analysis, the authors can compare between HVAC and HVDC insulators in
addition to their comparison between HVAC and HVDC transmission. It might be useful. Since
the title is particular about UHVDC insulators
13. The authors carried out the simulation studies on three insulators. Out of which 2 insulators
are HVDC insulator and one is UHVDC insulator. Then why the title is given as Estimation of
Electric Stress with Faulty discs in a UHVDC String
