The document outlines an assignment for a design of machines course. Students are asked to identify a need in society related to safety, convenience, cost, usability or functionality. They then must formulate a problem statement, provide 6 keywords, ask 10 questions to consider for a solution, and discuss 3 existing solutions with diagrams and analysis of their merits and demerits. The assignment is due on January 13, 2015 and is worth 10 marks.
