You can also use ELM (External list managment). It is used to import data mostly for sap crm marketing (you can
create dricetly profiles and target groups from imported list). You can also extened it using BADI. Then it
becomes very usefull
To export data, you can also use transaction SQVI to create an ABAP query to view and export data.
I have also used ELM as mentioned for an easy way to load business partners and related
information into the system.
