Five Year Technology Plan

Rossville Grade School

Steve Maltby-Sixth Grade Teacher

Introduction
This plan was created to give the sixth grade students of Rossville Grade
School the best opportunity to learn through the use of technology. The plan
includes current hardware and software that is used by or available to our
students. It also includes technology not currently accessible to our
students. With the use of current and the addition of missing technology, we
will be able to prepare our students more effectively for the world beyond
sixth grade. They will have more opportunity for discovery and a greater
sense of ownership over the learning process.
This plan was also created to give me the opportunity to be a more effective
educator through the use of technology. I will be able to communicate more
effectively with administrators, staff, parents, and students. I will also be able
to stay up-to-date with current technology trends in the classroom. The
technology in this plan will allow me to record lessons and make tutorials
that students can access from almost any devise. It will also allow my
classroom to become student centered instead of teacher centered.
There are many benefits to the adoption of this plan. The students gain a
better understanding of technology and an increased desire to learn. They
will also be more prepared for a learning environment like that found in a
high school or college. The plan allows me to become a more effective
teacher and a more efficient worker. The district also benefits from this plan.
While the upfront cost of the plan may be high, the district will same money
over time while also giving the student body the best opportunity to learn.
