The Chicago Area Radiation Therapists sponsor a Scholar Bowl tournament to promote educational excellence and provide a fun learning experience for student radiation therapists. Eligible teams consist of two students and one alternate from the same accredited radiation therapy program who are members of a professional organization. The tournament will have rules regarding decorum, note-taking, audience participation, and compliance. Officials will include judges, a moderator, scorekeepers and alternates who are not affiliated with participating schools. Awards will be given to the top two teams in the form of trophies, ribbons, and scholarships of $250 for first place and $125 for second place.

Sponsors Chicago Area Radiation Therapists, Affiliate of the Illinois State Society of Radiologic Technologists Tournament Goal To promote educational excellence in radiation therapy. To promote a fun and innovative learning experience for student radiation therapists. Eligibility Students must be enrolled in an accredited Radiation Therapy program. A letter from the program director will serve as proof of enrollment. Student team members participation in the tournament must be a student member of a professional organization, either state or national (i.e. CART, ASRT) and submit proof of their membership. Teams Teams will consist of two player with one alternate selected. One team member will be identified as Team Captain. Each school is permitted only one team. Both team members must be from the same therapy program. Application Application for participation must be submitted before the stated deadline. There will be no onsite registration for the scholar bowl. Decorum: No recording devices or taking of notes will be allowed in the tournament meeting room at any time. No audience participation in answering questions is allowed. Protests or challenges from the audience are not allowed during the tournament, but may be submitted in writing to the CART board for future considerations. All participating teams must comply with the tournament rules. Non-compliance may result in disqualification. Registration badges must be worn at all times. Traffic flow in and out of the tournament is restricted to between rounds. Anyone not following the rules of decorum or general tournament rules will be escorted out of the room by the Sergeant-atArms and barred from the remainder of the tournament. Officials: Three technologist judges with three alternates One Moderator Two Score keepers One scoreboard keeper The officials, whenever possible, will not be affiliated with any participating school Awards: Trophies and ribbons will be award to the first and second place teams.
