Reading and Writing

Overview

Materials

This course is designed to introduce key college writing structures,

offer reading skills practice, build vocabulary, and review basic
grammar skills. It will take place for 35 days over 7-8 weeks,
Monday through Friday for three hours each day. The North Star
Reading & Writing workbook is our main textbook and is used along
with other supplementary course books. The course will have
various forms of evaluation including homework (which will be given
most days), unit quizzes, writing assignments, a personal reading
log and vocabulary notebook along with a mid-term and final.

Requirements
1) Be on time to class every day
2) Be prepared to do the work in class and at home
3) Do your best everyday.

Evaluation
There will be a unit test and a unit writing for each
unit, along with other evaluations to be explained later
in the course
