Teaching Statement
Engl 7765 Advanced Teaching TPC in College, Second Summer Session 2012
This document is a reflection concerning who I am as a teacher.

Critical Refl ection

This document is effective in describing what I find to be an important aspect to
good teaching. It is also part of the reflective practice that is necessary. As a
reflective document, it is difficult for me to comment on possible weaknesses in it. I
am satisfied that I was able to pull substantive ideas from the texts for class such as
The Joy of Teaching and McKeachies Teaching Tips in order to establish a researchbased concept for my reflections. In addition, I tried to analyze personal experience
in looking at the importance of knowing who I am as a teacher. In this reflective
practice, I will say it is never over; each class brings its own rewards and challenges.
