Supplemental Report

At 6:30 PM on Monday, September 26, 2014, Reporting Investigators (R/Is) were summoned to
the Decatur County Coroner's Office by Dr. Manish Agarwal in reference to DCSD Case #
001294-23E-2014 (Coroner's Case # 2014-277). Upon R/Is' arrival at the Coroner's Office, Dr.
Agarwal reported that, during autopsy, A 3-month old fetus was found. Further, there was
extensive bruising on her neck with rupture to the neck muscles, fracture of the larynx, thyroid
cartilage, hyoid bone. Asphyxiation by Manual Strangulation had been identified as the cause of
death and the Coroner's official finding of the manner of death was homicide.
Upon receipt of the above information from Dr. Agarwal, R/Is contacted Dispatch and requested
CSU be dispatched to meet R/Is at the crime scene to conduct a more thorough analysis of the
scene for any additional; information. R/Is then proceeded to the crime scene at Sorority Rd.
R/Is first visit to the residence was on Sunday, September 25, 2014, when the victim's body had
been discovered as an apparent homicide. At that time, we observed no signs of struggle were
noted within the crime scene. The immediate crime scene, namely the roof of the building, had
been sealed since DCSD personnel left the location on September 25, 2014. Upon R/Is arrival on
September 26, 2014, there were no signs the seal had been broken.
Pursuant to the homicide investigation, R/Is conducted a search of the crime scene
(see Evidence Inventory). R/Is also interviewed the victim's roommate, Jade Scott, and her exboyfriend, Alex Mclean.
Investigation of DCSD Case # 001294-23E-2014 is active and ongoing as of this date.
