Social Studies Project and Oral Presentation

This project requires students to research and present the lifestyle in a

country through the daily life of a child from that country.
1. Your child will have to choose a country and research the following
aspects (they may use books, internet, information from other people,
etc. to find the information):
-food
-school
-clothes
-homes
-climate
-recreation, games (indoor/outdoor)
-special celebrations/days
2. They should also include a small map and mark the spot where the
country is and talk about how its location is affected by its proximity to
the equator (i.e., hot weather near the equator and colder as you move
toward the poles).
3. They can use a Bristol board or cardboard to mount their information
and photos / pictures for their class presentation.
*** You will find a rubric on the following page which will be used to
evaluate the project and presentation. ***
** Presentations will be the 1st week of April. Students will be
provided with class time to work on their projects but resources
may be sent in from home (photos, print outs, drawings ...) and
some support at home, especially in terms of research, is
encouraged. **
