March 2015
March
Sparkles-
The
character
trait
for
March
was
self-control.
Our
class
has
been
working
on
controlling
our
actions
and
emotions
in
an
appropriate
manner
both
inside
and
outside
of
the
classroom.
We
have
been
working
really
hard
to
be
in
control!
Science-
We
are
very
excited
to
begin
our
Space
unit
this
month!
After
learning
about
everything
weather
related,
we
have
moved
on
to
learn
more
about
the
solar
system.
The
second
graders
have
started
gathering
research
about
planets.
We
are
guaranteed
to
be
experts
in
no
time!
Be
on
the
lookout
for
a
presentation
in
the
near
future!
Math-
5
cents,
10
cents,
25
cents...can
you
tell
we
have
been
counting
money?
The
second
graders
have
just
started
their
unit
on
money.
A fter
wrapping
up
measurement,
we
sure
were
tired!
As
we
continue
learning
about
coins
and
their
values
we
are
also
practicing
adding
and
subtracting
with
monetary
amounts.
We
cant
wait
for
our
trip
to
the
U.S.
Mint!
Reading
and
Writing-
We
have
been
working
hard
to
read
scientific
and
historical
articles
to
practice
cause
and
effect
and
sequencing
events
in
history.
We
will
begin
another
cycle
of
writing
narratives
as
we
move
into
April.
Social
Studies-
As
we
continue
to
wrap-up
our
Womens
History
Month
projects,
we
are
excited
to
state
learning
about
our
government
including:
government
branches,
monuments,
and
our
nations
leaders.
