Backgrounder

Waco Foundation promotes solutions to community challenges, strengthens

our local nonprofits, engages philanthropists and manages charitable assets
to improve quality of life in McLennan County.

50 years
R.B. Parrot and Edith Heinze Parrot founded Waco Foundation in 1958. Since
then, over $44 million have been given in grants to those in McLennan County.

Community Initiatives
We execute our mission through three main initiatives.
The MAC College Money Program annually supports over 2,250 students
pursuing their dream of graduating from college. Waco ISD and
McLennan Countys college-going rates are higher than the state
average.
Through our Capacity Building Program, we provide nonprofits and those
who are interested with training programs and other resources to better
our community.
The SmartBabies Early Childhood Initiative seeks to improve the quality of
early childhood education in McLennan County.

Planned Giving
We currently manage over $74 million in assets, working to improve Waco on
behalf of others.
