St. Patricks Day Drunk Driving Campaign Results are in:

Results are in from the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over St. Patricks Day
crackdown on drunk drivers.
During the St. Patricks Day holiday, reducing the deadly dangers from
drunk drivers was a top priority as the Riverside Police Department
was out in force to arrest those who put themselves and others on the
road at risk.
From March 13 to March 22, 2015, the Riverside Police Department
made 2 arrests for motorists driving on suspended licenses during the
Grant. One DUI arrest was also made by an Officer who was not
working the Grant. In addition to the two arrests which were made,
Officers specifically working the traffic grant issued a total of FORTY
(40) traffic citations for various offenses including Speeding and Seatbelt violations.
Sergeant Miller says, St. Patricks Day is a day which finds a lot of people celebrating every
year in the Chicago area. It is important as with any holiday that we remember to not drink and
drive and to obey all traffic laws while on the road.
The recent law enforcement crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the
Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click
It or Ticket campaigns.
