Bill Gives Veterans, Active Duty Military 50% Discount On Hunting & Fishing Licenses
Santa Fe, NM Legislation that supports New Mexicos veterans and active duty military
passed the House Regulatory and Public Affairs Committee by a unanimous 7-0 vote.
The legislation, sponsored by Rep. Alonzo Baldonado, will give veterans and active duty military
a 50 percent discount on any Game and Fish Department license, such as hunting or fishing
permits. The discounts for veterans and active duty military are not new, but this bill will
eliminate confusing categories and create a more straightforward process.
Giving veterans and active duty military a discount on their fishing and hunting permits is a
great way to thank them for their service to our country, Rep. Baldonado said. I look forward
to this bill going to the House floor.
